Spaghetti Meatballs

Hello everyone! A delicious new dinner recipe for you today! A classic we all know and love done so easily and just absolutely delicious, packed with flavour. Spaghetti Meatballs! A classic! Tasty juicy meatballs coated in a homemade tomato sauce.

This recipe uses a mix of beef and pork mince, this give more flavour and extra juicy meatballs. I have seasoned these meatballs with so many tasty flavours you will be hooked! This recipe can be halved or double to suit you.

In the method I have mentioned you can blitz your sauce or leave it chunky its up to you, it will taste amazing either way. Please try use canned plum tomatoes as they have a lot more flavour then your regular chopped tomatoes. Serve with any pasta you like and enjoy!

Equipment

  • Bowls
  • Weighing scales
  • Frying pan
  • Food processor

Ingredients

Meatballs

  • 250 grams Pork Mince
  • 250 grams Beef Mince
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • Handful Fresh Basil
  • 40 grams Grated Parmesan
  • 60 grams Breadcrumbs
  • Salt & Pepper

Tomato Sauce

  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 cans Plum tomatoes
  • 1 Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • ¼ tsp Chilli Flakes
  • 2 tsp Oregano
  • 3 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Basil
  • Splash of white wine
  • Fresh Pasta for 4

Instructions

Meatballs

  • Add all of your ingredients into a big bowl and mix until well combined. Shape the mix into approx. 15 balls onto a tray.
  • Place meatballs into the fridge for at least 1 hour to help hold their shape.

Sauce

  • In a frying pan add your Olive oil, onion and garlic and fry until translucent.
  • Mix in your oregano and chilli flakes.
  • Add in your tomato paste then mix through. Add in your wine if using.
  • Mix in your canned tomatoes and fresh basil and simmer for approximately 10 minutes.
  • Season with salt and pepper then blitz till smooth if you prefer.

Assembly

  • Place your pasta to cook.
  • Fry your meatballs on all sides till golden brown. Mix in your blitzed sauce and cook your meatballs in this till fully cooked.
  • Stir through some fresh basil then serve over your cooked pasta with some grated Parmesan and fresh basil.
  • Enjoy!
