Hello guys! Chocolate and Hazelnut Oat Bars for your today. These are a slightly healthier option but they are absolutely delicious! A crunchy caramely oat bar packed with a chocolate and hazelnut filling. The perfect little snack that are so moreish!
There are many ways you can change up this recipe to suit your taste or use up what you already have in your kitchen. I have mentioned all these down below in the notes section. These are a super easy no bake recipe that takes no time to put together. You will love to make these again and again. They are a really tasty oat bar recipe.

Chocolate and Hazelnut Oat Bars
Equipment
- 8×8 Tin
- Baking paper
- Bowls
- Spatula
- Medium pot
Ingredients
- 170 grams Unsalted Butter
- 120 grams Light Brown Sugar
- 40 grams Any Nut butter (I used Hazelnut)
- ¼ tsp Cinnamon (Optional)
- 250 grams Oats
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 50 grams Golden syrup
- 50 grams Hazelnuts (Finely chopped)
Filling
- 200 grams Dark Chocolate
- 100 grams Nutella
- 50 grams Hazelnuts (Finely chopped)
Decoration
- 50 grams Dark Chocolate (Optional)
Instructions
- Grease and line an 8×8 square tin with baking paper.
- Place your butter, sugar, nut butter, golden syrup and vanilla into a large pot. Put on a medium heat and melt till smooth.
- Add in your oats, cinnamon and hazelnuts and fold till all incorporated.
- Place half of your oat mix into your tin, press your mix in tight making sure it is nice and flat.
- Melt your chocolate and nutella in the microwave in short blasts till smooth, stir in your chopped hazelnuts.
- Pour this over your oat mix, smooth out.
- Sprinkle the rest of your oat mix on top of the chocolate layer. You can slightly press this into the chocolate to make sure it sticks.
- Set in the fridge until firm. About 1 hour.
- Portion into how many bars you like. You can make 8 large slices or 16 regular.
- Enjoy!
Notes
- Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
- These can be made with any flavour nut you like, or no nuts at all! Peanut or pecan nuts would be a lovely substitute.
- Golden syrup can be replaced with honey.
- You can replace the dark chocolate with milk chocolate.
- If your not a fan of cinnamon you can leave it out.
- The Nutella isn’t essential, you can just do a chocolate filling.
- These oat bars can be made without a chocolate filling, just press all the oat mix straight into your tin then leave to set. You could even just do a small drizzle of chocolate on top.
